127 SKIN RETURNS, REFUNDS & WARRANTY POLICY
Last updated: 7 September 2026
127 SKIN is operated by DARE 2 DARE.
At 127 SKIN, we want you to receive your order in good condition and as described. This Returns, Refunds & Warranty Policy applies to purchases made through our South African online store and must be read together with our Terms of Service.
Nothing in this policy is intended to limit, exclude or waive any rights that a consumer may have under applicable South African law, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 ("CPA") and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 ("ECTA").
1. STANDARD RETURN PERIOD
127 SKIN offers a 15-day return period for eligible products, calculated from the date the product is delivered to the customer.
To qualify for a voluntary or change-of-mind return, the product must:
• Be unused
• Be in its original condition
• Include all accessories, charging cables, manuals, attachments and components supplied with it
• Be returned in its original packaging
• Show no signs of wear, damage, contamination, misuse or alteration
• Have all applicable hygiene, protective or security seals intact
Because 127 SKIN facial beauty devices are intended for direct personal use on the face and skin, used or contaminated devices may not qualify for a voluntary change-of-mind return, to the fullest extent permitted by South African law.
Customers are responsible for the direct cost and risk of returning an eligible unwanted product, where permitted by law.
No voluntary change-of-mind returns will be accepted more than 15 days after delivery, except where the customer has a separate statutory right under applicable South African law.
2. ONLINE COOLING-OFF RIGHTS
Where section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 applies, a customer may cancel an eligible online purchase without reason within 7 days after receiving the goods.
The customer may be responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods as permitted by law.
Certain goods may be excluded from the statutory cooling-off right where an exception under applicable law applies.
3. HYGIENE AND OPENED BEAUTY DEVICES
127 SKIN facial beauty devices are intended for direct personal use on the face and skin.
For hygiene, health and product-integrity reasons, we may be unable to accept a voluntary or change-of-mind return where a device has been used, contaminated, materially altered, damaged, or where a hygiene or protective seal has been removed or broken, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable South African law.
This limitation does not affect a customer's statutory rights where the product is defective, unsafe, damaged, incorrectly supplied, materially misrepresented or otherwise fails to comply with applicable consumer-protection legislation.
Opening packaging does not remove any statutory rights that a customer is legally entitled to exercise.
4. DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS AND STATUTORY WARRANTY
The 15-day voluntary return period does not replace or limit statutory rights provided to consumers under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.
South African law provides an implied warranty of quality for qualifying goods.
If a product develops a genuine defect within 6 months after delivery and the product fails to meet the standards required by the CPA, the customer may be entitled to return the product and elect a repair, replacement or refund in accordance with applicable law.
A qualifying defective product will be returned at our risk and expense where required by law.
5. WHAT IS NOT CONSIDERED A DEFECT
To the extent permitted by law, the following will generally not be considered a manufacturing or product defect:
• Normal wear and tear
• Cosmetic damage caused after delivery
• Accidental damage
• Dropping, crushing or impact damage
• Water or moisture damage where the product is not expressly stated to be waterproof
• Improper charging
• Use with incompatible chargers, adapters, electrical supplies or accessories
• Electrical surge damage
• Failure to follow operating, charging, cleaning, storage or safety instructions
• Misuse, negligence or abuse
• Unauthorised repairs, modifications or alterations
• Damage caused by improper storage
• Damage caused after delivery as a result of customer handling
• Use of the product for a purpose for which it was not designed
• Damage caused by third-party products or accessories
• Ordinary cosmetic deterioration arising from reasonable use
• Dissatisfaction with cosmetic results where the device itself is functioning correctly
Nothing in this section limits a consumer's rights where a genuine defect is covered by the CPA.
6. RESULTS AND PERSONAL EXPECTATIONS
127 SKIN products are beauty and skincare devices.
Individual experiences and cosmetic results may vary depending on factors including skin type, skincare products used, frequency of use, technique, lifestyle and individual circumstances.
A product will not be considered defective solely because a customer:
• Does not achieve a specific cosmetic result
• Expected faster or different results
• Changes their mind
• No longer wants or requires the device
• Does not like the feel or experience of using the device
• Finds that the product does not meet a personal preference that was not expressly guaranteed by 127 SKIN
No statement, image, testimonial, advertisement or product description should be interpreted as guaranteeing identical results for every customer unless expressly stated otherwise.
This clause does not apply where a product has been materially misrepresented or where the customer has a statutory right to a remedy.
7. DAMAGED, INCORRECT OR INCOMPLETE ORDERS
Customers should inspect their order as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.
If you receive:
• The incorrect product
• An incomplete order
• A product damaged during delivery
• A product that appears defective on arrival
please contact us as soon as possible.
You may be requested to provide:
• Your order number
• Your full name
• A description of the issue
• Clear photographs or video showing the product
• Photographs of the packaging where relevant
• Any other reasonable information necessary to assess the claim
Providing photographs or videos assists us in resolving claims quickly but does not remove any statutory rights available to a consumer.
8. RETURN AUTHORISATION
Before returning a product, please contact us at:
Email: chris@dare2dare.co.za
Please include your order number, full name and reason for the requested return.
We will provide the applicable return instructions and return address.
Products must not be returned to a courier, supplier, fulfilment facility, manufacturer or any other address unless specifically authorised by 127 SKIN.
Sending an unauthorised return to the incorrect address may delay the return process.
9. INSPECTION OF RETURNED PRODUCTS
Returned products may be inspected and, where necessary, reasonably tested to establish:
• The condition of the product
• Whether all original components are present
• Whether the product has been used
• Whether the product has been damaged or altered
• The nature and cause of any alleged defect
• Whether the return qualifies under this policy or applicable law
An inspection does not permit 127 SKIN to deny a remedy where a customer is legally entitled to that remedy under the CPA, ECTA or any other applicable law.
10. REFUNDS
Where a refund is approved or required by law, the refund will ordinarily be processed to the original payment method used for the purchase, unless otherwise agreed or legally required.
Banking institutions and payment providers may require additional processing time after a refund has been issued.
Where a valid ECTA cooling-off right applies, refunds will be processed within the period required by applicable South African law.
Delivery fees, return shipping fees and other charges will be handled according to the reason for the return and applicable law.
11. RETURN SHIPPING
DEFECTIVE, INCORRECT OR NON-COMPLIANT PRODUCTS
Where a product qualifies for a statutory return due to a defect, safety issue or failure to comply with applicable law, return costs will be handled in accordance with the CPA and other applicable legislation.
Where required by law, the return will be at our risk and expense.
CHANGE-OF-MIND RETURNS
Where a customer exercises an applicable cooling-off right or voluntary change-of-mind return, the customer may be responsible for the direct cost of returning the product, where permitted by law.
We recommend using a trackable courier or delivery service where the return is being sent at the customer's risk.
127 SKIN is not responsible for return parcels lost or damaged in transit where the customer selected and arranged the return courier, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
12. MISSING COMPONENTS OR DAMAGED PACKAGING
Where legally permissible, voluntary returns must include all items originally supplied with the product, including:
• Charging cables
• Attachments
• Accessories
• Manuals
• Original packaging
• Protective components
• Promotional items supplied as part of the product purchase where applicable
Where a customer has lost, damaged or failed to return components, this may affect the eligibility or value of a voluntary return to the extent permitted by law.
This does not permit us to reduce or refuse a statutory remedy where doing so would conflict with applicable law.
13. REPAIRS
Where a customer elects a repair under the CPA and a qualifying product is repaired, the additional protections provided by South African law will apply.
If the repaired defect is not remedied, or another qualifying failure, defect or unsafe feature is discovered within the legally applicable period after the repair, the customer may be entitled to a replacement or refund in accordance with the CPA.
14. DELIVERY PROBLEMS
Customers are responsible for providing complete and accurate delivery information when placing an order.
Where an order cannot be delivered because an incorrect, incomplete or inaccessible delivery address was supplied by the customer, the customer may be responsible for reasonable additional delivery or re-delivery charges where permitted by law.
If an order is lost or damaged while being transported by a courier appointed by us, please contact us so that the matter can be investigated and resolved.
15. REFUSED OR UNCOLLECTED DELIVERIES
Where a customer refuses delivery or fails to collect an order without exercising a statutory right of cancellation, any refund or re-delivery may be subject to reasonable delivery, return or handling costs to the extent permitted by applicable law.
16. SALE, DISCOUNTED AND PROMOTIONAL PRODUCTS
Products purchased during a promotion, sale or using a discount code remain subject to all applicable statutory consumer protections.
A discounted price does not remove a customer's rights regarding genuinely defective, unsafe or non-compliant goods.
Where a defect, imperfection or condition was specifically disclosed to a customer before purchase and knowingly accepted by the customer, the customer's rights in relation to that disclosed condition may be limited to the extent permitted by law.
17. BUNDLES AND PROMOTIONAL OFFERS
Where a product was purchased as part of a bundle, promotional offer or multi-product discount, any voluntary return may require the return of the full bundle or may result in the refund being recalculated based on the promotional pricing applied.
This will only apply to the extent permitted by law and will not limit statutory remedies relating to defective products.
18. GIFTS
Refunds will generally be made to the original payment method used by the purchaser.
Where appropriate, 127 SKIN may offer an exchange or store credit to the recipient of a gift.
This does not affect any statutory consumer rights that may apply.
19. CHARGEBACKS, FRAUD AND FALSE CLAIMS
We encourage customers to contact us first where there is a problem with an order so that we can attempt to resolve the matter directly.
Nothing in this policy prevents a customer from exercising legitimate rights through their bank, payment provider or applicable consumer-protection process.
127 SKIN reserves the right to dispute fraudulent chargebacks, false claims, deliberate misrepresentation or attempts to obtain both a product and a refund.
Where reasonably necessary, we may use relevant order records, courier tracking information, delivery confirmation, customer communications and other lawful evidence in connection with a payment dispute, fraud investigation or legal claim.
20. MISUSE OF THE RETURNS PROCESS
127 SKIN reserves the right, to the extent permitted by law, to reject voluntary returns or take reasonable action where there is evidence of:
• Deliberate damage to a product
• Fraudulent claims
• Repeated abuse of the returns process
• Product substitution
• Returning a different product from the one supplied
• Tampering with serial numbers or identifying information
• False claims that an order was not received where delivery can reasonably be verified
This section does not affect genuine statutory claims under applicable South African consumer law.
21. PRODUCT SAFETY AND USE
Customers are responsible for reading and following all product instructions, warnings and safety information supplied with the device.
127 SKIN devices must be used only for their intended cosmetic and beauty-related purpose.
Customers should stop using a device if it appears damaged, overheats, behaves abnormally or presents a safety concern.
Customers should seek appropriate professional advice where they are unsure whether a beauty device is suitable for their individual circumstances.
Nothing in this policy should be interpreted as medical advice.
22. LIMITATION OF THIS POLICY
Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, restrict or waive any consumer right that cannot legally be excluded under South African law.
If any provision of this policy conflicts with a mandatory provision of the CPA, ECTA or another applicable law, the mandatory legal provision will prevail and the remaining provisions of this policy will continue to apply.
23. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
127 SKIN may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our business practices, products or applicable law.
The policy that applies to a purchase will generally be the version in effect at the time of that purchase, subject to any mandatory rights provided by law.
